Air May Be Free, But Compressed Air Isn’t! (Part 2 of 2)

In my last post early last month (June 9th), Mr. Carlisle of  Air Compressor Supply was looking for compressed air flow meters to measure compressed air.  As I explained to him,  our Steel-Trak®   Model 640S is ideal for compressed air applications.  The 640S immersible thermal mass flow meter delivers the 1.0% accuracy and highly repeatable direct mass flow rate measurement, along with easy insertion probe installation.  Turndown is 1000:1,  allowing for very low flow measurement as well as high flow measurement with the same instrument. This capability sets thermal mass flow technology apart as it is the only direct mass flow technology that allows you to do leak checking -looking for very low flows while there is no demand on the compressed air system, and measure at peak flow rates during full process productivity and demand on the system.

Unique in the industry, Sierra’s patented Dry-Sensor Technology uses no internal organic materials that tend to crack or settle over time. Dry sensors are much more stable than organic “wet” sensors and do not drift. When you combine very stable dry sensor technology with NIST tracable primary standard calibration, the instrument performance in the field is optimal.

I learned a bit more about air compressors and air audits, while Mr. Carlisle of Air Compressor Supply was able to find a thermal mass flow meter that was ideal for his many compressed air measurement applications.
