Celebrate Flow Meters

Flow meters are used in several applications when brewing beer. The deaerating column is connected to a water flow meter. Flow meters are used to determine the rate and daily or weekly totals of carbon dioxide in a brewing carbonic system. The beer is carbonated or aerated in a process controlled by a flow meter. They are used in regulating gas-exchange as well. The data obtained by the flow meter is used for troubleshooting and tracking usage to ensure that it is not excessive. Breweries utilize flow meters for wort measurement during wort production and as a system for deaerating water used in the brewing process. Flow meters are the solution to increased productivity and reduction in costs associated with brewing.

How can constant pressure in the filler be maintained in order to fill draft and dark beer in minimum time?

Flow meters can be used for measurement and control of beer flow to the bottle or can fillers from the beer tanks or in other areas of the plant that require liquid volume measurement, including water supply for bottle rinsing or soaking.

In order to control output in the filling process pressure and flow must be controlled. Pressure is measured by installing a sanitary transmitter at the filling station. The pumps are equipped with variable speed controls and regulated by flow meters. The overall pump speed is regulated by flow and pressure. Flow before the filter is measured by a flow meter and a signal converter, allowing the brewing system to maintain a constant rate of flow thus smoothly filling in minimum time. Loss of beer output and time is easily avoided using flow meter equipped systems.

Flow meters help to accomplish these objectives with a minimum consumption of raw materials, energy, and have the fewest possible environmental effects. Adjustable frequency maintained by a flow meter offers a substantial return on investment by reducing utility expenses for any pump application in the brew-house, filtration cellar, conveyor, filler, labeler, carton make-up machine, condenser fan, or CIP stations. Flow meters can be used for any liquid flow measurement applications including soft drink manufacturing.
