Flow meters are used in several applications when brewing beer. The deaerating column is connected to a water flow meter. Flow meters are used to determine the rate and daily or weekly totals of carbon dioxide in a brewing carbonic system. The beer is carbonated or aerated in a process controlled by a flow meter. They are used in regulating gas-exchange as well. The data obtained by the flow meter is used for troubleshooting and tracking usage to ensure that it is not excessive. Adjustable frequency maintained by a flow meter offers a substantial return on investment by reducing utility expenses for any pump application in the brew-house, filtration cellar, conveyor, filler, labeler, carton make-up machine, condenser fan, or CIP stations. Flow meters can be used for any liquid flow measurement applications including soft drink manufacturing.
