In response to customers’ growing requirements, it now features a more user-friendly interface and an electronics upgrade that enhances its ability to deliver more precise flow measurement data. The new QuadraTherm is available today through Sierra’s website at https://www.sierrainstruments.com/products/quadratherm.html.
With the new enhancements on QuadraTherm includes Modbus digital communications on both AC- and DC-powered products, upgraded USB connectivity, and a user-friendly interface with LEDs featuring green/red buttons. “We get great feedback from our customers. Our engineering team turned this around and implemented the upgrades. I’m excited about building on this with more upgrades going forward,” states Greg Smith, Product Manager.
QuadraTherm delivers the world’s most accurate thermal mass flow measurements, with an accuracy of +/- 0.5% reading above 50% of full scale for air and other gases. Accuracy is as good as, if not better than, Coriolis at a fraction of the price. It offers built-in flow conditioning (inline version), high turndown to handle low to high flows during upset conditions, multivariable outputs, and flow ranges up to 60,000 sfpm (305 smps).
The meter also features qTherm®, Dial-A-Gas®, Dial-A-Pipe™, and onboard qMix gas mixing software, enabling custom gas mixtures in the field without requiring costly recalibration. It is ideal for managing changes in flare gas composition in upstream oil & gas applications and other scenarios where gas composition frequently changes.
The QuadraTherm delivers direct measurement of gas flow, unlike differential pressure (dP) meters, which require additional calculations to convert volumetric flow to mass flow —the measurement most often needed. Direct measurement enables the meter to provide low-end sensitivity for detecting flares, venting, and leaks. It also measures extremely high flows during upset conditions.
